Ingredients
  

For the Patties
  • 1 lb Ground Chicken Can be swapped with ground turkey
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic Fresh garlic elevates flavor
  • 1 medium Grated Onion Consider onion powder if fresh isn’t handy
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley Dried parsley works if fresh isn’t available
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Mint Use less dried mint if substituting
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano Italian seasoning can be a handy swap
  • 1/2 cup Feta Cheese Goat cheese is a great alternative
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs Use gluten-free breadcrumbs if needed
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Adjust to taste
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil Extra virgin olive oil enhances flavor
For the Assembly
  • 4 pieces Burger Buns Whole grain or gluten-free versions
  • 4 leaves Lettuce Leaves Any leafy greens or veggies can be added
  • 1 large Tomato Sliced
For the Tzatziki Sauce
  • 1 cup Greek Yogurt Sour cream can be a quick substitute
  • 1 cup Grated Cucumber Press to remove moisture for thicker sauce
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice Vinegar can work as a stand-in
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Dill Dried dill may replace fresh but should be less in quantity
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper

Method
 

Preparation of Patties
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, minced garlic, grated onion, chopped parsley, mint, dried oregano, crumbled feta, breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper. Mix well for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions. Shape into patties about ¾ inch thick. Refrigerate for 15-30 minutes.
Cooking the Patties
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add the chilled patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side until golden-brown.
Preparing Tzatziki Sauce
  1. In a medium bowl, mix Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, chopped dill, salt, and black pepper until creamy.
Assembling the Burgers
  1. Spread tzatziki sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Layer a patty, lettuce, and tomato, then top with the other bun.
