  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese Alternatives include provolone or vegan cheese.
  • 1 cup Pepperoni slices Can substitute with cooked sausage, veggies, or any preferred meat.
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano Feel free to replace it with Italian seasoning mix.
  • 1 tsp Red pepper flakes Adjust to your spice preference.
For Cooking
  • 1 tbsp Additional olive oil Used for greasing the skillet.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, and active dry yeast. Mix thoroughly and gradually pour in warm water and olive oil, stirring until a sticky dough forms.
  2. Transfer the sticky dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until it forms a smooth ball.
  3. Place the kneaded dough into a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for approximately 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 475°F and heat your cast iron skillet on medium for 5 to 7 minutes.
  5. Once risen, gently punch down the dough, stretch it into a flat disk, and place it in the hot skillet.
  6. Spread pizza sauce over the dough, sprinkle mozzarella cheese, and layer with pepperoni and herbs.
  7. Drizzle olive oil over the pizza and bake for 12 to 15 minutes in the oven.
  8. Once baked, let it cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve hot.
