Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Finely chop fresh broccoli or pulse in a food processor. If using frozen, thaw and drain. Lightly steam or blanch for 3-5 minutes until tender.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine broccoli, cheese, eggs, breadcrumbs, and seasonings. Mix thoroughly until a thick mixture forms.
  3. Shape the mixture into compact patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter, and place on a parchment-lined tray.
  4. For frying, heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. For baking, preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 20 minutes, flipping halfway.
  5. Let the patties cool slightly before serving, best served warm with a yogurt-based dipping sauce or spicy aioli.
