Method
 

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Gather all your ingredients and equipment.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together ¾ cup of softened unsalted butter, ½ cup of granulated sugar, ½ cup of brown sugar, and a pinch of salt until light and fluffy.
  4. Add in 2 large eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually blend the dry flour mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips using a spatula.
  7. Drop rounded portions of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for about 10-12 minutes until edges are set and golden brown, while centers appear soft.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar for a festive touch if desired.
