For the Garlic Butter Custard
  • 6 cloves Garlic Roasted
  • 1/2 cup Butter Melted
  • 1 large Egg Optional
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley Chopped
For the Topping
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese Shredded

Directions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Peel several garlic cloves and place them in a small baking dish. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Roast the cloves for about 20 minutes until they are golden and soft. Let them cool before mashing into a creamy paste.
  2. While the garlic is roasting, slice your loaf-type bread in half horizontally. Preheat a baking sheet in the oven for 3-5 minutes. Once hot, place the sliced bread on the sheet to bake for about 3-5 minutes until the edges are lightly crispy.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine your mashed garlic, melted butter, egg, milk, salt, paprika, and freshly chopped parsley. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
  4. Dip each half of the bread into the garlic butter custard, ensuring even coating. Allow the custard to soak in.
  5. Place the coated bread halves on the baking sheet, spaced apart. Bake for about 15-18 minutes, until bubbling and golden.
  6. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese on top of each half. Broil for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and slightly charred.
  7. Remove from the oven, allow to cool for a minute, and slice into pieces. Serve warm.
