Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Stuffed Italian Meatloaf
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic in a skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until translucent.
  3. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, basil, onion, garlic, eggs, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Shape the meat mixture into a rectangle about 1 inch thick on parchment.
  5. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the meat rectangle and add optional pepperoni or prosciutto.
  6. Carefully roll the meat mixture using the parchment as a guide into a log shape.
  7. Place the rolled meatloaf seam side down on the baking sheet and top with marinara sauce.
