- In a medium saucepan, combine the basmati rice, boiling water, ground turmeric, and a pinch of salt. Stir gently and bring to a simmer. Partially cover and cook for 8-10 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F) while the rice cooks.
- In a mixing bowl, mix the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, garam masala, curry powder, salt, and black pepper to make the masala coating.
- Line a baking dish with parchment paper. Place the fish fillets, skin-side down, in the dish, and pat dry. Spoon the masala mixture over the fish.
- Bake the fish in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until flaky.
- Remove from the oven, fluff the rice with a fork, and serve alongside the fish.
