Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Gather all your ingredients for the Homemade Frito Taco Salad.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the lean ground beef. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking the meat into small pieces, until it’s browned and no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  3. Return the skillet to low heat. Sprinkle in the taco seasoning and add 1/4 cup of water to the ground beef. Stir well and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. Drizzle lime juice over the shredded lettuce in a large bowl. Toss gently to coat.
  5. Add the seasoned ground beef to the bowl of dressed lettuce, along with the diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, and half of the corn chips. Toss gently.
  6. Right before serving, drizzle salsa and French dressing over the salad and toss gently.
  7. Scoop the salad into individual bowls or a large serving dish. Top each serving with sour cream, reserved corn chips, and sliced green onions.
