- In a large mixing bowl, combine the lean ground beef, bread crumbs, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well incorporated.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat for about 2 minutes until it shimmers.
- Shape the beef mixture into 4 to 6 equal-sized patties, about ¾ inch thick. Place the patties in the heated skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on one side until browned, then flip and cook for an additional 4-6 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the brown gravy mix and hot water until smooth. Stir in the remaining ketchup and Worcestershire sauce.
- Pour the gravy over the cooked patties in the skillet. Allow to simmer on low heat for about 3-5 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and transfer the patties to plates. Spoon extra gravy over each patty.
