Ingredients

For the Beef
  • 1 pound seasoned beef can swap with thinly sliced chicken breast
For the Vegetables
  • 2 cups bell pepper any color
  • 1 cup optional onions or mushrooms sauté alongside the peppers
For the Cheese
  • 8 ounces provolone cheese or use mozzarella or another melting cheese
For the Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder can add onion powder for extra flavor

Equipment

  • Skillet

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by heating a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned beef to the pan, ensuring it's spread out in a single layer for even cooking. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until it turns a rich brown color and is fully cooked. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and achieve that delicious sear.
  2. Once the beef is nicely browned, toss in your sliced bell peppers (and optional onions or mushrooms, if using). Sauté the vegetables for about 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until they soften and become vibrant.
  3. Lower the heat to medium and sprinkle the provolone cheese evenly over the beef and peppers in the skillet. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it sit for about 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts beautifully.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat and gently stir to combine the melted cheese with the beef and peppers. Spoon the mixture into bowls, serving it hot and fresh. Garnish with fresh parsley or a splash of hot sauce if desired.
