Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a sticky dough forms. Knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  3. Grease a bowl with oil, place the dough inside, cover, and let it rise for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled.
  4. Heat olive oil in a saucepan, add minced garlic, and sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Let cool.
  5. After rising, punch down the dough, transfer it to a greased pan, stretch to fit, cover, and let rise for 30-45 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 425°F. Make dimples in the dough, brush with garlic oil, sprinkle with cheese and salt, then bake for 20-25 minutes.
  7. Allow to cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack before slicing.
