Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions for M&M’s Brownies
  1. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate and unsalted butter together in a double boiler over medium heat, stirring until smooth and glossy, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and mix in granulated and brown sugar until well combined. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition until the batter looks shiny and smooth.
  4. Gently fold in the cocoa powder, salt, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  5. Sift in the flour and gently fold it in until just a few streaks of flour remain.
  6. Line an 8 x 8-inch baking dish with parchment paper. Pour the batter into the dish, smoothing the top.
  7. Sprinkle M&M’s on top of the batter, evenly spreading them without pressing down.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 45-50 minutes until the edges are set and the center is slightly gooey.
  9. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the dish for 30-45 minutes before slicing into squares.
