Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Thaw the puff pastry sheet for about 30 minutes until pliable.

  3. Unroll the thawed pastry on a lightly floured surface and slice into 9 squares.
  4. Place 1 tablespoon of ricotta cheese in the center of each pastry square, leaving space around the edges.
  5. Whisk one egg and coat the edges of each pastry square with egg wash.
  6. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of chocolate chips and a pinch of coarse sugar on each square.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool on the baking pan for a few minutes before serving warm.
