Ingredients

For the Dough
  • 1 cup Low-fat Greek Yogurt Can substitute with blended low-fat cottage cheese for added protein.
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour For a low-carb option, substitute with almond flour mixed with coconut flour.
  • 2 tsp Baking Powder Ensure freshness by checking expiration date.
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning Customize with your favorite herbs if preferred.
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder Fresh minced garlic can be used for a bolder taste.
  • 1 tsp Salt
For the Filling
  • 1 cup Pizza Sauce Use homemade or store-bought sauce.
  • 1 cup Low-fat Cheese Fat-free mozzarella can be used for a lighter option.

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Baking tray
  • Parchment Paper
  • Spatula
  • Fork

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt until well mixed. Gradually fold in Greek yogurt to form a shaggy dough and knead until smooth.
  3. Divide dough into 8 equal portions and roll each into an oval shape, about 6 inches long.
  4. Take one dough oval, spoon about 15g of pizza sauce on one half, and add 20g of cheese, leaving a ½-inch border.
  5. Fold the dough over to seal the filling, crimp the edges with a fork, and dampen edges if needed to keep the filling contained.
  6. Place on the baking tray and bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool for about 5 minutes before serving. Optionally serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
