Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Beat the unsalted butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, then add eggs one at a time.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients alternating with milk, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fill liners with batter and bake for 12-15 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool the cupcakes in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Mash ripe avocado, then blend with powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth to create the buttercream.
  8. Once cooled, frost cupcakes generously with the avocado buttercream.
