Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and 1 packet of instant yeast until thoroughly blended.
- Create a well in the center of the dry mixture and pour in ¾ cup of warm water and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Stir with a wooden spoon until the dough begins to come together.
- Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1-1.5 hours until it doubles in size.
- While the dough is rising, cook and chop 4 slices of turkey bacon and ½ cup of chicken ham. Dice one bell pepper and slice ½ cup of mushrooms. Combine these with 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese, ½ teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon of dried oregano.
- After the dough has risen, punch it down gently and divide into 6 equal portions. Roll each piece into a circle about 6 inches in diameter.
- Take a circle of dough, spoon a portion of the filling onto one half, fold, and crimp the sides to seal tightly.
- Beat one egg to create an egg wash. Brush the tops of each calzone with the egg wash.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
- Place 2-3 calzones in the air fryer basket, and air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Once cooked, remove calzones from the air fryer and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes
Ensure fillings are not too watery to avoid soggy calzones. Prepare dough in advance for quicker meals. Unbaked calzones can be frozen.
