Ingredients
  

For the Beef
  • 1 pound Rump/Sirloin Steak Tender cuts for rich flavor
  • 1 large Egg Consider a flax egg for plant-based option
For the Coating
  • 1 cup Corn/Potato Starch Forms a crispy layer
For the Vegetables
  • 1 medium Sweet Onion Red onion can replace if desired
  • 1 large Bell Pepper Any variety suits this dish
  • 2 stalks Spring Onions Fresh garnish
  • 2 pieces Chilies (Birdseye/Hot) Adjust for spice preference
For the Marinade
  • 3 tablespoons Light Soy Sauce Tamari for gluten-free substitute
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste Fresh minced ginger and garlic can substitute
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil Optional, can be omitted
For the Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar Honey or a sugar substitute works
  • 1 teaspoon White Pepper Black pepper is an acceptable alternative
  • 1 cup Stir Fry Sauce Mix of sweet chilli sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, salt

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Trim any fat from the ribeye or sirloin and slice into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. In a bowl, mix light soy sauce, ginger garlic paste, and sesame oil. Add beef strips, toss to coat, and marinate for 15 minutes.
  3. Prepare the sauce by mixing sweet chili sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, and salt.
  4. Add egg to the marinated beef, mix to ensure even coating.
  5. Coat beef strips in corn or potato starch until thoroughly coated.
  6. Heat oil in a skillet to 350°F. Test with a small piece of beef to ensure it's ready.
  7. Fry beef strips in small batches for 1-2 minutes until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  8. Stir-fry sliced sweet onions and bell peppers for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Add crispy beef, prepared sauce, spring onions, and chilies. Toss for 1-2 minutes.
  10. Serve immediately, garnished with extra spring onions if desired.

Notes

For extra crispiness, double fry the beef after initial frying. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
