Equipment

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Let the cod sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes while gathering ingredients. Slice the cod into four equal pieces and season with salt and pepper. Dredge each piece lightly in flour.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Cook cod pieces for about 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Transfer to a plate and keep warm.
  3. Add remaining tablespoon of butter to skillet. Stir in minced garlic and pinch of flour. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and add lemon juice along with Italian seasoning. Scrape browned bits from the skillet and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Stir in Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley until combined and melted. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  6. Return cod to skillet and spoon creamy sauce over. Cook for 1-2 minutes until heated through and flaky.
