For the Chicken Filling
  • 1 pound Ground Chicken can substitute with ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 medium Onion chopped, yellow or white
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream or half-and-half
  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese or Pecorino Romano
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning can substitute with dried herbs
  • to taste Salt and Pepper
For Assembly
  • 4 pieces Hamburger Buns or whole wheat/gluten-free
  • Fresh Parsley optional for garnish

Method
 

Preparation Instructions
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  2. Stir in 2 minced garlic cloves and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Stir in 1 pound of ground chicken, breaking it apart as it cooks for about 5-7 minutes until fully cooked.
  4. Reduce heat to low, pour in 1 cup of heavy cream and mix in 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese until melted.
  5. Season with 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste.
  6. Toast hamburger buns for about 2-3 minutes until lightly golden.
  7. Spoon the Chicken Alfredo mixture onto the bottom half of each bun and top with the other half.
  8. Serve warm, optionally garnished with fresh parsley.
