Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, add ground beef, and cook until browned (5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to skillet; sauté for 3-4 minutes until onion is translucent.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly at the bottom of the greased baking dish.
  5. Layer thinly sliced potatoes on top of beef, overlapping slightly. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  6. Sprinkle cheddar and parmesan cheeses over the potatoes and pour beef broth around the edges of the casserole.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
