Ingredients
  

For the Casserole
  • 1 pound Kielbasa can substitute with turkey kielbasa
  • 4 cups Potatoes russet or Yukon gold
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese sharp or mild depending on preference
  • 1 cup Sour Cream can substitute with Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream can substitute with half-and-half
  • 1 medium Onion red or sweet for milder taste
  • 2 cloves Garlic fresh recommended
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika smoked for deeper flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil or any vegetable oil
For Garnishing
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley optional for garnish

  • 9x13-inch baking dish

Method
 

Directions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Gather your ingredients.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced kielbasa and cook until browned, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add more olive oil if needed, then add diced onion. Sauté for 3 to 4 minutes until translucent. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine sour cream, heavy cream, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir until smooth.
  5. Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and layer half of the sliced potatoes, half of the kielbasa, sautéed onions, garlic, and half of the cheddar cheese.
  6. Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, kielbasa, onion, garlic, cream mixture, and top with remaining cheddar cheese.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Let the casserole cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving warm.
