- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add 1 chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent.
 - Add in 2 minced garlic cloves, cooking for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
 - Stir in 1 pound of ground beef, cooking for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
 - Add 15 ounces of tomato sauce, 14.5 ounces of diced tomatoes, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, and 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper.
 - Pour in 2 cups of beef broth, bring to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes.
 - Add 2 cups of uncooked elbow macaroni, cover, and cook for 10-12 minutes or until pasta is al dente.
 - Remove the bay leaf, taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
 - Serve hot garnished with freshly chopped parsley and optional shredded cheddar cheese.
