Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with butter or cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together 1 cup of softened butter, ¾ cup of brown sugar, and ½ cup of granulated sugar until creamy.
  3. Add 2 room-temperature eggs, ½ cup of sour cream, and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, ½ teaspoon of baking soda, 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth it out evenly.
  7. Combine 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar with an additional teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and sprinkle it over the top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are lightly golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan, about 15-20 minutes.
