Step-by-Step Instructions for Hot Chocolate Cookies
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar for 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg, milk, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Mix on low speed for 1-2 minutes until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, powdered hot cocoa mix, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually fold into the wet mixture without overmixing.
- Fold in the marshmallow bits and semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, ensuring space between them. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are set.
- Press extra chocolate chips and marshmallow bits on top of each cookie while they're warm.
- Allow the cookies to rest on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
