  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder optional
For the Cooking Liquid
  • 2 cups Beef Broth low-sodium or homemade
  • 1 cup Barbecue Sauce homemade or store-bought
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar for caramelization
  • 1 medium Onion sliced
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
For Caramelization
  • 3 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 cup Beef Drippings

Method
 

Preparation and Cooking
  1. Pat the beef brisket dry with paper towels and rub the seasoning mixture all over the brisket.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the brisket for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  3. Transfer the brisket to a slow cooker, add all cooking liquid ingredients, and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  4. After cooking, let the brisket rest for about 10 minutes before shredding it into tender pieces.
  5. In a skillet, melt butter and add the cooking liquid; mix with shredded brisket until well coated.
