Ingredients
  

For the Pasta
  • 400 g Mafalda Corta Pasta or use any pasta shape you prefer
For the Meat Mixture
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil for sautéing
  • 700 g Ground Beef extra lean
  • 2 cups Onions chopped
  • 2 tsp Allspice or use 7 spice as an alternative
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 5 tbsp Tomato Sauce
  • Salt to taste for seasoning both the water and beef
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil for the pasta
For the Yogurt Sauce
  • 2.5 cups Plain Full Fat Yogurt 750 g
  • 1/2 cup Tahini
  • 1 clove Garlic crushed
  • 4 tsp Dried Mint adjust to taste
  • 1 Lemon squeeze for juice
For Garnish
  • Toasted Pine Nuts
  • Fresh Herbs

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain and return to pot. Drizzle with olive oil and toss gently.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add onions and sauté for about 5 minutes until translucent. Add ground beef, cooking for 5 to 7 minutes until browned, stirring occasionally.
  3. Mix in allspice, cinnamon, and black pepper. Stir in tomato sauce and combine for about 2 minutes. Reduce heat to low while preparing the yogurt sauce.
  4. In a bowl, combine yogurt, tahini, garlic, dried mint, and lemon juice. Mix gently with a fork until well blended.
  5. Layer pasta on a serving dish. Spoon meat mixture over pasta, then dollop yogurt sauce on top.
  6. Sprinkle with toasted pine nuts and fresh herbs before serving. Enjoy!
